Rachel Berman, Chair of the Dance Department at OCC, hosted the event, emphasizing her dedication to her students and their growth within the arts. During her opening speech, she celebrated the achievements of the dance department, announcing the graduation of over 20 new Pilates instructors, five students obtaining associate degrees in arts, and four emerging commercial dancers. The ceremony also included certificates of achievement awarded to dance instructors, enhancing the educational aspect of the showcase.

Student involvement extended beyond performances. Numerous student volunteers were instrumental in organizing the event, assisting with tasks related to ticketing and seating arrangements. One volunteer, Guillermo Nava, expressed the importance of demonstrating cultural diversity through dance, showcasing how the event was not only a performance but also a representation of different heritages and traditions.

The audience reception of the showcase was overwhelmingly positive. Guests appreciated the performances and the opportunity to witness a multitude of dance styles within a supportive community environment.
