Huntington Beach, California – SeaSalt Honky Tonk at the Beach officially opens its doors on Saturday at Bolsa Chica State Beach, targeting country music enthusiasts in Orange County. This unique venue is being hailed as the world’s only honky tonk located at the beach, offering an inviting space for music lovers and foodies alike.
The entrance to SeaSalt features iconic saloon doors along with a giant horseshoe near the multi-use beach trail, setting a lively tone for visitors. Inside, the venue showcases vibrant country music-inspired murals, including phrases such as “Orange Country” and “Wild Wild West,” which provide a backdrop for an immersive experience.
Alicia Cox, the founder and CEO of Prjkt Restaurant Group, is at the helm of this innovative concept. Cox has a contract with the California State Park system that allows her to manage several concessions at Bolsa Chica and nearby Huntington state beaches. Inspired by art installations in Tulum, Cox aims to create engaging photo opportunities that enhance the overall visitor experience.
SeaSalt Honky Tonk plans to host live country music acts, featuring both emerging and established artists throughout the summer. Among its noteworthy events is a bluegrass brunch taking place every Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., which will offer bottomless pancakes and mimosas, followed by line dancing lessons for guests eager to hit the dance floor.
The culinary experience at SeaSalt is spearheaded by Heritage Barbecue, renowned for its Michelin Bib Gourmand designation. Co-founder Daniel Castillo will provide a mouthwatering menu that includes tri-tip, chicken, ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. An innovative wood-burning rotisserie smoker, capable of smoking up to 100 chickens at a time, will be a standout feature of the restaurant’s offerings.
A strong partnership exists between Cox and Castillo, facilitated by mutual acquaintance Ryan Rasmussen, co-owner of Riip Beer Co. Together, they aim to merge culinary excellence with entertainment to foster a vibrant social atmosphere at SeaSalt. Additional entertainment options include a Sunday residency by Redneck Rodeo and family-friendly Western Family Nights led by narrator Raul Esperanza every other Friday.
Promotions throughout the venue are thoughtfully curated in collaboration with country artist J.T. Harker, adding to the dynamic atmosphere of the honky tonk.
In addition to SeaSalt Honky Tonk, a new location called PCH Tacos is set to open in three weeks at Pacific Kitchen, located just south of SeaSalt. This venue will offer a unique culinary experience inspired by the flavors of Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas, further diversifying the food offerings at Bolsa Chica State Beach.
