Ramen Nagi, a renowned ramen bar hailing from Japan, is set to grace Costa Mesa with its presence, opening its first location in Orange County on March 24, 2023. The highly-anticipated restaurant will be situated at South Coast Plaza, a premier shopping destination known for its diverse retail offerings.
This new Costa Mesa outlet marks the sixth Ramen Nagi restaurant in California, joining the ranks of existing locations in San Diego, Los Angeles, Arcadia, Palo Alto, and Santa Clara. Ramen Nagi first ventured into the U.S. market with its Palo Alto shop opening in 2018, quickly gaining popularity for its authentic and customizable ramen experience.
The restaurant will feature a menu rich in flavor, showcasing five classic broth flavors and allowing patrons to personalize their ramen bowls according to their preferences. Diners can choose the broth density, flavor richness, noodle texture, protein options, and an array of toppings to create their ideal dish.
Notably, to celebrate their grand opening, Ramen Nagi will introduce an exciting new creation, the Limited King ramen. This exclusive ramen will debut on opening day and will only be available for the opening week, featuring a special flavor called O.C. Shrimp King. This limited-time offering will be enhanced with garlic shrimp, fried kale, and a dash of sriracha.
Guests can expect an ambiance replicating traditional Japanese ramen shops, complete with solid black cedar wood and textile dividers that enhance the dining experience. The Costa Mesa location will span a 1,250 square-foot area and accommodate up to 70 diners, featuring a variety of seating options including bar seating, tables, and communal areas.
To serve its patrons effectively, Ramen Nagi will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This new addition to South Coast Plaza is anticipated to elevate the local food scene, enriching Costa Mesa’s cultural community with its rich culinary heritage.
South Coast Plaza holds the title as the largest shopping center in Orange County. It boasts around 280 stores and impressive annual taxable sales of approximately $2.5 billion. The addition of Ramen Nagi is expected to further enhance the shopping experience, catering to both local residents and visitors in search of authentic and innovative dining options.
As the opening date approaches, culinary enthusiasts and ramen lovers alike are looking forward to experiencing Ramen Nagi’s signature offerings and contributing to the vibrant food culture of Orange County.
