Newport Beach—The Pendry Newport Beach has officially opened its doors after undergoing a luxury transformation from its previous identity as the Four Seasons hotel, known also as The Island Hotel and Fashion Island Hotel. The property reemerged in September 2023 following a comprehensive remodeling by Montage International and Eagle Four Partners after lying dormant during the pandemic.
This newly revamped hotel presents 295 redesigned guestrooms, with 114 of them being spacious suites that offer picturesque views of the Pacific Ocean, Newport Harbor, or Back Bay. In addition to the breathtaking accommodations, Pendry Newport Beach introduces a selection of three dining establishments accessible to the public.
The hotel’s culinary offerings include:
Further enhancing its hospitality experience, Pendry Newport Beach houses The Elwood Club, a modern membership club that features exclusive spaces for its members. The facilities within the club include:
Interest in club memberships has been robust, with many prospective members signing up prior to the completion of construction, reflecting a strong local engagement. Culinary Director Ben Martinek oversees the dining services across Pendry, crafting a menu that resonates with his Italian culinary background.
To promote its exclusive offerings, Pendry is currently allowing nonmembers to dine at Viamara, with a specialized menu on offer until the end of June. Menu highlights include calamari fritti, lasagna bianca, and chicken parmesan pizza, among other selections. Chef Martinek is recognized for his approach of rotating seasonal menus that include both member favorites and signature dishes.
Beyond its dining options, Pendry Newport Beach features a comprehensive array of amenities including a full-service spa, a fitness center that remains open 24/7, and the Paintbox Kids Club designed for children aged 5 to 12. The hotel promotes both family-friendly and adult-oriented amenities, providing private cabanas for guests to enjoy leisurely days by the pool.
In an effort to connect with the local community and showcase culinary talents, Pendry Newport Beach recently participated in the Noble Wine & Dine Weekend, co-hosted by Chef Wolfgang Puck. This event highlighted local culinary offerings and further positioned Pendry as a hub for dining excellence in Newport Beach.
As Pendry Newport Beach settles into its new identity, it stands as a luxurious retreat that combines redesigned accommodations with diverse dining experiences, exclusive membership opportunities, and a commitment to community engagement.
