Santa Ana, CA – In a string of recent arrests in Orange County, law enforcement officials have apprehended multiple individuals charged with serious offenses relating to child exploitation and pornography. These allegations encompass a range of sexual crimes including possession, distribution, and direct assault against minors.

Cristian Enrique Restrepo, 28, is facing severe charges involving the molestation of a young girl and possession of child pornography. The victim, who is now 11 years old, reportedly knew Restrepo through a mutual friend. The charges against him include seven felony counts of sexual assault dating back to 2023, alongside additional counts related to possession and distribution of child pornography, and using an underage child to generate obscene materials. He is scheduled for arraignment on August 6 at the Central Justice Center in Santa Ana.

Another suspect, Daniel Cody Wright, 34, has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual exploitation involving minors. He faces one count of second-degree sexual exploitation and three counts of third-degree sexual exploitation. Wright’s charges originated from allegations of possessing and dealing in materials depicting minors engaged in sexual activities. Notably, he is a registered sex offender who previously served a 15-month prison sentence for similar offenses committed in 2022. His capture followed an investigation sparked by a tip from the Internet Crime Against Children task force. Wright is being held at the Orange County Detention Center on a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 17.

Luis Manuel Partida, 38, was also taken into custody for felony possession of child pornography. Authorities began their investigation after allegations emerged that Partida had downloaded child sex abuse material from the internet. Following the execution of a search warrant at his residence, officers seized multiple electronic devices that contained evidence of his criminal activities. He was subsequently booked at the Santa Ana Jail.

In a more complex case, Arthit Tanjapatkul, 43, faces severe charges after an investigation began regarding the sale of a military-grade laser sight. During the investigation, authorities uncovered a cache of firearms and hundreds of images of child pornography. Tanjapatkul attempted to flee the country at the time of his arrest and is currently being held on a $250,000 bond. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 70 years in federal prison.

Lastly, Matthew Inman, 39, Treasurer of the Orange County Democratic Party, was arrested for receiving and storing child sexual abuse materials. He allegedly attempted to meet and sexually assault a child during an online interaction with an undercover law enforcement officer. Inman is facing a potential prison sentence of 5 to 20 years if convicted of the charges. Following his arrest, the Orange County Democratic Party suspended him from all roles and condemned his actions.

The widespread nature of these arrests in Orange County highlights the ongoing issues of child exploitation and the critical need for robust law enforcement responses. Such offenses not only jeopardize the safety of vulnerable children but also pose serious legal consequences for the perpetrators. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of collaboration between local law enforcement and federal agencies in addressing and preventing these types of crimes.
