Newport Beach is preparing to host a special milestone as the Newport Beach Wine Festival celebrates its 20th year this Memorial Day Weekend at the luxurious Balboa Bay Resort. This annual event promises to bring together wine connoisseurs, local food lovers, and those looking to enjoy a weekend filled with exquisite tastings and unique culinary experiences.
The festival kicks off on Friday, May 23, with a prestigious four-course dinner hosted by renowned French vintner Jean Charles Boisset, the owner of the Boisset Collection. The evening will feature an exceptional collaboration with Executive Chef Prabeen Prathapan from Balboa Bay Resort. A reception for the dinner will start at 6 p.m., followed by dinner service at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for this elegant cocktail-attire dinner are available starting at $215.
On Saturday, May 24, the festival will host its main event: a grand tasting of wines and spirits from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Guests can enjoy an array of delectable bites from local eateries, including Cucina Enoteca, Gus’ Fried Chicken, Pique-Nique, and Matty’s Patty’s Burger Club. Featured wineries and merchants at this year’s tasting include Chambers & Chambers, Veuve Clicquot, Justin Vineyards & Winery, and several others. Spirits will be provided by quality brands such as Whistle Pig, Empress 1908 Gin, and Half Shell Vodka. Tickets for the grand tasting are priced at $145 for presale and $165 for same-day purchases.
The festival culminates on Sunday, May 25, with a delightful Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brunch. This brunch will feature a range of culinary highlights, including a chilled seafood display, a meat carving station, an omelet station, a poke bar, and a dessert station complete with a peach cobbler bar. Each guest will enjoy two glasses of Veuve Clicquot champagne as part of their experience. The brunch will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tickets priced at $125 per person.
Attendance for all events during the Newport Beach Wine Festival is strictly limited to guests aged 21 and over; no minors will be permitted.
