Huntington Beach witnessed a joyous celebration on Thursday, June 12, as Edison High School commemorated the graduation of its Class of 2025. The commencement ceremony was held at Huntington Beach High School, where approximately 430 graduates were honored by their families and friends as they concluded their high school careers and embarked on new journeys.

Commencement Highlights

During the ceremony, attendees were treated to a memorable performance by a musical group from Edison High, who played “Revival” by Zach Bryan. This performance encouraged graduates to embrace the moment and dance together one last time as classmates. The talented group featured Saxon Baltzer, Ava Coggins, Kayla Do, Koa Hord, Sam Johnson, and Nathan Lopez.

In addition to musical performances, Edison ASB President Ben Berger delivered a heartfelt speech reflecting on both the challenges and positive experiences throughout the students’ high school years. Berger emphasized how overcoming low points helped him forge deeper connections with new friendships. The ceremony also included speeches from fellow students Tobias Robertson and Kyle Huang, while the Edison choir proudly performed the national anthem.

Acknowledging Achievements

Principal Danny Morris recognized the outstanding academic achievements of students during the graduation ceremony. Special acknowledgment was given to magna cum laude and summa cum laude graduates, who wore distinguished gold gowns. In addition, Morris honored eight graduates who have committed to enlisting in the military after graduation, highlighting their readiness to serve.

The celebratory nature of the event emphasized the importance of the support system that families and friends provided to the graduates throughout their educational journeys. Morris expressed his gratitude towards these supporters, referring to them as the graduates’ “ride-or-die squad.” The ceremony aimed to spotlight the achievements, growth, and determination of the graduates as they step into the future.
