A 21-year-old man from Orange, Nathan Ethan Avina, was arrested on suspicion of DUI after a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Huntington Beach. Huntington Beach, CA – A 21-year-old man from Orange, identified as Nathan Ethan Avina, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 6. The incident took place around 12:45 a.m. at the intersection of Atlanta Avenue and Delaware Street.
Authorities reported that Avina was driving a black Audi RS5 eastbound on Atlanta Avenue when he struck a 35-year-old pedestrian from Huntington Beach who was walking in the roadway just east of Delaware Street. Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find the pedestrian unconscious.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, Avina, who was uninjured in the collision, remained at the location of the accident. Law enforcement officials suspect that driver impairment may have contributed to the fatal incident. Consequently, Avina was taken into custody without any resistance from his side.
