CureDuchenne has announced the appointment of Dr. Brenda Wong as its new Chief Medical Advisor. Newport Beach, CA – CureDuchenne, a global nonprofit organization dedicated to finding and funding a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), announced the appointment of Dr. Brenda Wong as its new Chief Medical Advisor, effective January 5, 2026. Dr. Wong, a leading authority in neuromuscular medicine and clinical research, brings a wealth of experience to the role, spanning over two decades in pediatrics and 25 years in pediatric neurology.
Prior to this appointment, Dr. Wong served as the director of the Comprehensive Neuromuscular Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for 19 years. In 2018, she became the founding Director of the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Center at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center and currently holds the title of Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School.
In her position at CureDuchenne, Dr. Wong will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization’s clinical strategies and ensuring the adherence to high standards of patient-centered care and therapeutic innovation.
