A vibrant beach atmosphere at Alicia Cox's new dining venues.
Alicia Cox, known as the ‘queen of concessions’ in Orange County, is launching two new beachfront venues in Huntington Beach: SeaSalt Honky Tonk and PCH Tacos. SeaSalt Honky Tonk features live music and a barbecue menu, while PCH Tacos offers a Cabo-inspired dining experience. Both venues aim to create inclusive community spaces, with free entertainment and cultural diversity. Cox is also releasing her debut cookbook and actively supports local families through charity work.
Huntington Beach – Alicia Cox, renowned as the “queen of concessions” in Orange County, is expanding her culinary empire with the launch of two new vibrant beachfront venues this year: SeaSalt Honky Tonk at the Beach and PCH Tacos. These new establishments are situated along the stunning coastline of Huntington Beach, which Cox has transformed into lively community hubs.
SeaSalt Honky Tonk offers a unique blend of California country music culture combined with the beach atmosphere. This venue features live bands, line dancing, and a barbecue menu curated in collaboration with Heritage Barbecue from San Juan Capistrano. It is located at Bolsa Chica State Beach and is being touted as possibly California’s only honky tonk at the beach. SeaSalt Honky Tonk is a reinvention of the original SeaSalt at the Beach and showcases quotes from famous country artists throughout the venue. Cox’s favorite quote, among those displayed, is from musician John Pardi.
Alongside SeaSalt Honky Tonk, Cox has unveiled PCH Tacos, which captures the essence of a Cabo, Mexico-inspired dining experience. The interior of PCH Tacos is adorned with colorful canopies, designed to create a festive ambiance while protecting patrons from the wind. Cox has also partnered with Mega 96.3 radio station for DJ performances, contributing to a lively atmosphere that appeals to a broad audience.
Alicia Cox’s initiative to diversify her offerings aligns with her vision of inclusivity. She aims to cater to various demographics, especially the Latino community, by ensuring that her venues reflect a blend of cultural influences. Significantly, all entertainment provided at her establishments is free of charge, promoting equality among beachgoers.
Cox currently manages seven successful locations and is in the process of opening her eighth venue, California Fork and Spoon, at Huntington State Beach. She is known for her hands-on approach, visiting each location weekly to maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. One of SeaSalt Honky Tonk’s signature events is the weekly Redneck Rodeo, which focuses on community engagement.
In addition to her restaurant ventures, Cox has also made strides in the culinary publishing world. In December, she released her debut cookbook titled “California — Fork & Spoon Vol. 1: A Culinary Story,” which features a collection of recipes, including SeaSalt Beach Burritos, desserts, and cocktails. The cookbook has gained popularity, selling around 500 copies during the holiday season.
Her dedication to community service is evident through her collaboration with Families Forward, a nonprofit organization committed to helping struggling families in need. Cox’s concessions remain open throughout the summer months, providing a gathering space that fosters interaction among diverse communities.
Cox holds two state contracts for her concessions with California State Parks, specifically at Bolsa Chica State Beach and Huntington State Beach. Her commitment to redefining beach recreation emphasizes shifting away from traditional activities to offer a distinctive and innovative experience for visitors.
Reflecting on the atmosphere at her venues, Cox describes a lively environment filled with joy, where patrons can enjoy the music and partake in meaningful cross-cultural interactions. With her latest expansions along the coast, she continues to shape the culinary landscape of Huntington Beach, making it a focal point for community celebration and culinary exploration.
