Tran, the driver of the vehicle, fled the scene, prompting a brief police chase. The pursuit concluded at the intersection of Adams Avenue and Main Street, where Tran crashed his vehicle. After the crash, he exited the vehicle and fled on foot while armed with a shotgun, firing at officers during his escape.

In response to the threat, the police halted their pursuit and set up a containment perimeter in the area. Law enforcement was able to locate Tran in the backyard of a residence on Shipley Street, where he was taken into custody.

Tran is currently being held without bail, with his arraignment scheduled for Friday. The Major Crimes Unit of the Huntington Beach Police Department is conducting the investigation into the incident.
